Sony’s $799 HT-ST5 sound bar is a full multichannel home theater system that packs the features of an A/V receiver and multiple home theater speakers into a slim soundbar with wireless subwoofer.
The 380-watt system features 7.1 channels of sound, decoding of such surround formats as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, three HDMI switching inputs, an HDMI output with audio return channel, and S-Force Pro front surround technology to deliver a fully immersive virtual surround experience without the need to connect multiple speakers. It also features stereo Bluetooth with NFC.
