Sony has released pricing and shipping details for its new flagship Master line of TVs, including the company’s first consumer 8K TV.
It also revealed details for LCD and OLED displays previewed during CES 2019 in January.
Set to ship in May in 65- and 55-inch sizes for $3,499 and $4,499, respectively, the Master A9G 4K OLED TV is engineered with display technology that Sony likens to “approaching that of a professional-grade monitor.” Features include the company’s Picture Processor X1 Ultimate processing technology, Pixel Contrast Booster for more color and contrast in bright areas, Netflix Calibrated Mode and IMAX Enhanced with DTS audio.
A 77-inch A9G model will ship in June for $7,999.
The Z9G 8K HDR TV also features the X1 Ultimate processor, as well as Backlight Master Drive with full-array local dimming and 8K X-tended Dynamic Range Pro. It will ship in June in 85-inch ($12,999) and 98-inch ($69,999) screen sizes.
Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support will launch for both series later this year.
