Santa Barbara, Calif. – Sonos became the first wireless multizone-audio supplier to announce plans to incorporate the new Apple Music streaming service, but integration into Sonos’ products won’t come until sometime later this year.
“Apple Music will be integrated like our other music services into the Sonos app and will be able to be streamed from the Internet to any or every room of a home,” a Sonos spokesperson said. “We are the first hardware supplier to be noted by Apple for support of their service.
Apple Music launches June 30.
Sonos already lets users listen to their computer’s iTunes library through the Sonos app, which doesn’t allow for streaming of Apple’s current iTunes Radio service. The app, however, does allow for streaming of the Beats music service, which Apple bought last year.
