Shure Breaks Into The Gaming Market With Sound-Isolating Units

Three earphone models in the gaming edition line of Shure’s new E Series of sound isolating products, scheduled for October shipping, are said to give players the competitive advantage they have been seeking.

Utilizing a sleek look and feel designed to match today’s popular portable gaming devices, such as the Sony PSP, the units feature “comfortable” sound-isolating sleeves that contour to the inner ear and naturally seal out background noise.

The E Series units reveal the audio elements of the game that players have been missing by delivering brilliant highs and extended bass, said Sony. Sound-isolating sleeves block up to 25dB of background noise for an immersive gaming experience. An assortment of interchangeable sleeves in small, medium and large sizes allows the end user to create a comfortable and secure fit. A carrying case maximizes the portability of ear phones and sleeves.

Three distinct models are included in the E Series. The entry-level E2g, an ideal choice for upgrading bundled earphones, has a suggested $99 retail; the step-up E3g is $179, and the high-end E4g is $299.

While all feature a sleek industrial design and studio-quality components, both the E3g and the E4g feature high-definition speakers. The E4g also features ultra-wide-frequency audio and extended bass for “incredible” reproduction of gaming soundtracks.
