SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. — Hard drive maker Seagate Technology promoted William Watkins to the post of president replacing company CEO Stephen Luzco, who previously held that post.
Watkins, previously Seagate’s chief operating officer, will be responsible for all disc storage operations and related product development. He will continue to report to Luzco.
Seagate is in the process of taking itself public. The company announced in March that it would undertake a $20 billion IPO at an as yet unspecified date.
