Scosche has found a compromise for consumers who want extra smartphone power but don’t necessarily want a bulky battery case.
The MagicMount PowerBank, which features a 4,000 mAh rechargeable battery, magnetically attaches to Lightning or MicroUSB smartphones via rare-earth magnets using a small or large MagicPlate. The MagicPlate can be applied directly to the phone, sandwiched in-between the phone and case, or attached to the outside of the case. The PowerBank can fully charge a dead iPhone 6/6s or Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge twice via its built-in 2.1-amp output, said Scosche.
Other features include four blue LED indicator lights and a separate cable to recharge the PowerBank. The MicroUSB model employs Scosche’s EZTip reversible connector.
The MicroUSB version has a $49.99 suggested retail while the Lightning version is $59.99. Both are currently available.
