Russound is shipping its first landscape speakers meant for use in outdoor audio environments.
The new 70-volt/100-volt/8-ohm AW4-LS-BR speaker, with a suggested retail of $279, is designed to blend well with landscapes, gardens, atriums and outdoor dining areas. It features a weatherproof cabinet, 360-degree rotation and 120-degree vertical directional adjustment rotation, 0.5-inch NPS/NPT male connections for easy mounting, and color-stabilized composite construction that is designed to resist chipping, peeling or fading.
ASA-based materials ensure maximum UV protection and overall endurance over the long haul, Russound said, and the rust-proof aluminum grille protects the driver array through extremes in heat, cold and humidity.
For flexibility, Russound added an easy-to-access tap switch for quick wattage adjustment or to put the AW4-LS-BR into an 8-ohm bypass mode for compatibility with any standard low impedance amplifier.
“Our commercial streaming system is designed to be an outstanding, reliable performer, especially outdoors where it sometimes can be a challenge to create a satisfying soundscape in a large area,” said Charlie Porritt, CEO, Russound. ”But, with our new landscape speakers, facilities managers and homeowners alike can enjoy exceptional audio year-round, even in the most challenging weather conditions.”
