Josh.ai rolled out new integration partners, shared Josh Edge update, updated JoshGPT 3.0 with generative AI control, introduced DoorLink intercom feature, unveiled the redesigned Josh One processor, and debuted a reimagined music experience at its Winter Launch Event, held virtually on March 11.
Expanded Partner Ecosystem and Nimble DevSuite Integrations
In an industry where technology is constantly evolving, Nimble DevSuite is Josh.ai’s answer to rapidly add new integrations and propel the future of interoperability in the smart home. Josh.ai announced the following new partnership updates and integrations — all of which are either available now or will be pushed later this month via an over-the-air software update to all systems:

Josh Edge Remote Update
Following last year’s Winter Launch Event, Josh.ai presented its dealers with the concept of an intuitive handheld remote control for the home. The Josh.ai community made their voice heard and the Josh Edge project was born one year ago. On the anniversary of the project’s conception, the Josh.ai team shared more information about the device icons that will enable users to customize the upper six buttons on Josh Edge. These buttons offer the ability to control nearby devices in the remote’s assigned room, activate custom scenes, or launch specific video channels and services depending on what is most important for every client. All Josh.ai dealers are now able to view the designs and pre-order buttons in preparation for the arrival of Josh Edge later this year.
JoshGPT 3.0
Building on the success of JoshGPT 2.0, Josh.ai is updating its AI OS software to power the next generation of intelligent living experiences. Interactions with JoshGPT 3.0 are faster, smarter, and more contextual thanks to enhanced reasoning capabilities. For example, JoshGPT 3.0 is now able to deduce answers to complex scenarios like, “Hey Josh, how many Josh Micros would fit in a Ferrari Roma?”
JoshGPT 3.0 is also increasing its general-purpose assistance for every sports fan. Josh.ai users can now ask for real-time scores, schedules, statistics, and more to always stay on top of their game. With baseball season coming up, clients can ask questions like, “Hey Josh, who do the Rockies play on opening day this year?”
In addition to its expanded breadth of knowledge and reasoning, JoshGPT 3.0 takes the guesswork out of setting the perfect mood with conversational device control. For users that want to listen to music, but have trouble remembering an exact song or artist, they can simply describe what they would like to play and Josh.ai will understand the request. For example, asking “Hey Josh, play that song about drinking pina coladas in the rain,” will result in Josh.ai searching and finding “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)” by Rupert Holmes.
For tunable lighting control, JoshGPT 3.0 makes it easy to describe a color palette or motif to set any vibe. Without having to create preset scenes, users can ask “Hey Josh, set the lights to the colors of a Caribbean sunset,” and Josh.ai utilizes its intelligence to generate the right colors while dynamically adjusting the lights.
DoorLink AI-Powered Access Control
DoorLink is an AI-powered gateway for homeowners to see, communicate, and control property access from anywhere. Clients can greet guests, verify identities, and grant access to their property with a simple voice command or the tap of a button. With the launch of DoorLink, Josh.ai is delivering on its promise of complete access control powered by AI OS. Clients are now equipped with a full-featured home monitoring system that offers real-time push notifications when activity is detected, camera analysis and generative surveillance insights courtesy of Josh Vision, and a two-way intercom with compatible door stations.
DoorLink intercom is available on Josh Touchscreen today and coming to the Josh App later this month so that clients can stay connected whether they are at home or on-the-go. Launching with DoorBird and 2N, Josh.ai customers are now able to enjoy the accessibility and convenience of Josh when communicating with the outside world.
New Josh One Hardware
The Josh One entry-level control processor has been completely redesigned with an ultra-compact form factor and increased versatility so that everyone can live smarter. Whether it is mounted in a technology rack or placed in a media cabinet, installation is made easy thanks to USB-C power and ethernet data connections. A height of only 1.07 inches, width of 3.35 inches, and depth of 3.35 inches means that the new Josh one is small enough to fit anywhere for customers in smaller homes, condos, and commercial spaces. Under the hood, the updated Josh One is equipped with a 4-core ARM Processor with speeds up to 1.5 GHz.
Out of the box, Josh One and the Josh App can consolidate up to 100 connected devices onto the AI OS control platform. As soon as Josh One is on the network, it auto-discovers supported devices, intelligently generates a home’s floor plan, and logically associates corresponding images to each area in the Josh App. Within minutes, customers are able to freely interact with their surroundings and begin personalizing their smart home experience. When clients would like to expand upon their control interfaces, Josh One also supports Josh Touchscreen, Josh Micro, and all Josh.ai remotes.

Reimagined AV Experience and Music Controller
Building upon its advanced AV distribution capabilities, Josh.ai has reimagined entertainment experiences in the modern home with the look, feel, and features of its new audio controller. The new Josh App audio controller centralizes all content on a new discovery page. Music lovers are empowered with access to their complete music library, personal playlists, and all available streaming platforms. At the top of the discovery page, recently played content is also a tap away to make it easy to jump back in while keeping music rotations current based on a user’s listening history.
In addition to full-featured search, the updated music experience includes dynamic content personalization. A new favorites section offers quick access to a user’s most-loved tunes while curated collections inspire new discovery. No matter how many streaming platforms a client is logged into, they can prioritize which service they would prefer Josh to use when searching for songs, artists, albums, and genres. Lastly, JoshGPT is standing by when audiophiles want to learn more with intelligent music insights.
The updated audio experience does not stop with music control. As part of the advancements made possible with AI OS, AV routing is made easy by connecting and synchronizing media sources across different output zones in the home. Users can group content that is currently playing from one area to another via the Josh App or with a simple voice command like, “Hey Josh, listen to the living room TV in the kitchen.” This updated functionality ensures a cohesive and flexible entertainment experience everywhere a client would like to leverage their multi-zone environment.
The new music controller is available now in the Josh App across currently supported streaming platforms, including Sonos, Autonomic, and Denon Heos. In tandem with the launch, Josh.ai is rolling out its WiiM support today and will be pushing BluOS integration later this month.
