Shin Oka has been named president of Sanyo Fisher Company, succeeding Takuya Kobayashi.

Oka served nine years with the Chatsworth, Calif.-based U.S. sales and marketing unit of Sanyo North America, most recently as executive vice president. He began his Sanyo career with parent Sanyo Electric Trading, headquartered in Osaka, in 1991 as senior vice president of audio/video product planning.

Outgoing president Kobayashi, who held the top post at SFC since 1996, will return to Japan in an unnamed executive capacity with the parent company in Osaka.
