Nexus Plans 1080p LCDs

Nexus Electronics, a CTL company, will travel here during International CES to show dealers its new 40-inch and 52-inch Full HD 1080p LCD TV offerings at its Caesar’s Palace suite.

Among the company’s highlights will be a 52-inch 1080p LCD TV that is due to ship in February at a $3,499 suggested retail.

Model NX5202 features 1,920 by 1080p Full HD resolution, dual HDMI inputs, dual component video inputs, a 3-D digital comb filter, ATSC/Clear-QAM digital tuning and a 6.5 ms response time.

Nexus distributes through select retailers, custom installers and a nationwide network of distributors.

Meanwhile, Erik Stromquist, CTL executive VP, will discuss the company’s new e-waste recycling initiative on Jan. 8 at noon in North Hall room N 255-257 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Stromquist will be part of a panel entitled, “Keeping CE off the Curb,” at which he will introduce his firm’s recycling program for its Nexus-branded televisions. Stromquist said his firm, through its subsidiary, Retronics, has been recycling electronics equipment, including televisions, since 2004, and has processed more than 1 million pounds of e-waste.
