The latest batch of Sharp Aquos TVs is hitting retail sales floors.
The line, introduced by Hisense at CES, includes the mid-range 4K UHD P8000 and P7000 series, and the opening price point P5000 1080p TV.
Missing from the original 21-model lineup is the brand’s top-of-the-line P9500 quantum dot TV, and the P9000 flagship with full-array local dimming.
Hisense makes and markets TVs under the Sharp and Aquos brands in North and South America under a five-year licensing pact with the Japanese manufacturer. Sharp is currently contesting that agreement in an eff ort to reclaim its U.S. TV business.
The newly shipping models include:
P8000: Available in 50-, 55- and 65- inch screen sizes, the TVs feature HDR, full-array local dimming and a 4K Ultra HD upscaler Suggested retails are $700, $900 and $1,300, respectively;
P7000: Available in 43-, 50- and 55-inch screen sizes with a 65-incher to follow in September, the 4K UHD 7000 offers HDR, direct-lit LED backlighting and UHD upscaling in a retail price step of $450, $550, $650 and $1,200;
P5000: This opening-price point series features full HD, dbx-tv audio enhancements, and onboard apps and web browser in 32-, 40-, 43-, 50- and 55-inch screen sizes in a suggested retail range of $230 to $530.
All models feature a 120Hz refresh rate.
