LOS ANGELES -- NadaPC and Samsung Electronics are collaborating on a convergence device called the iCEBOX (Interactive Communication Entertainment Box), which will combine the functions of a countertop TV with a built-in DVD/CD player and Internet-access terminal.

The companies plan to give the iCEBOX appliance to consumers at no cost for hardware in exchange for a commitment to take three years of NadaPC's ISP service at $21.95 per month. The service includes a checking account from NadaPC's online banking partner CompuBank.

The iCEBOX will be sold direct to consumers at www.NadaPC.com, where customers can register for the offer.

"The iCEBOX is an all-in-one device that allows people to surf the Web, send e-mail, shop and bank online, watch television, play audio CDs and enjoy DVD movies," said NadaPC CEO Jonathan Strum.

NadaPC, based here, is a provider of Internet appliances. It will be the first company to distribute the iCEBOX, created and developed by CMi Worldwide in collaboration with Samsung. NadaPC said the iCEBOX will include a washable wireless keyboard and a remote control that allow users to toggle between changing channels and navigating the Internet.
