The SanDisk Extreme Pro MicroSDXC UHS-II card is being hailed by its maker as having the world’s fastest transfer speeds.
The card can transfer at speeds up to 275Mbps, according to SanDisk, which is nearly three times faster than its MicroSDHC UHS-I cards. (As with all storage, real-world use will be slower.) The Extreme Pro is intended for mobile video applications, such as action cameras and drones, and carries a price tag that nearly matches these types of devices. The 64GB version has a $179 suggested retail, while the 128GB is $299.
The cards are waterproof, shock-proof and even X-ray-proof. They will be available in the second quarter.
SanDisk announced the card at this year’s Mobile World Congress.
