MLB Gets More Beats By Dre

Fans of 11 MLB teams can now purchase special editions of Beats Electronics’ Solo2 Wireless headphones.

Beats now offers headphones emblazoned with team logos for the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers, Anaheim Angels, Pittsburg Pirates and Kansas City Royals. Regardless of loyalty, the headphones all carry the same $329 suggested retail.

The Solo2 Wireless  originally launched in 2014. Features for the on-ear Bluetooth headphones include a 12-hour rechargeable battery, built-in mic with on-ear controls, and a folding design. A cable with an in-line mic and remote is included for wired use. The non-MLB versions carry a $299 price tag.

TWICE reached out to Beats to see what motivated this year’s selection, and whether any new teams are expected to be added, but hadn’t heard back as of this posting.

This is not the first time the Apple-owned company has released MLB headphones. It introduced Studio Wireless versions for five teams last year, and it launched a special Red Sox version in 2010.
