Microsoft Reveals Valve Partnership For VR

Second gaming commitment in two weeks

San Francisco — Microsoft is apparently doubling down on its commitment to virtual reality gaming by revealing a partnership with Valve VR to "make Windows 10 the best platform for VR."

The announcement was made at the company's pre-E3 press conference today.

This comes on top of last week's announcement that Microsoft will team with Oculus to bundle an Xbox One controller with its Rift headset so Oculus wearers can stream Xbox One games to their headsets and play Windows 10 games on a PC.

A similar capability could be announced this week for the Valve/HTC-developed Hive headset, though no further details were announced today.
