F&P Integrates DCS
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. — Fisher & Paykel will more fully integrate its DCS cooking unit into the parent company and will go to market this year as a single global resource, the manufacturer said. The New Zealand-based kitchen and laundry supplier acquired DCS six years ago and had maintained separate management teams for the brands. The brand immersion, which dovetails with DCS’s move from commercial to more modern designs, will be trumpeted at this month’s Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) under the theme “One company … two brands.”
AGA, Premium Add New Distributors
GREENVILLE, MICH. — As a result of AGA Rangemaster’s recent merger of its AGA Heartland and Northland Marvel U.S. operations to form AGA Marvel, Marvel distributor Eastern Marketing was given added responsibility for the AGA and Heartland brands in the Northeast. Former northeastern AGA and Heartland distributor Felix Storch will continue to distribute the company’s Northland line.
Meanwhile, Peerless-Premier, the commercial range manufacturer, has assigned authorized sales/distribution responsibilities to Canada’s Pacific Specialty Brands for the states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Alaska. Peerless national sales manager Dennis Daniels said the deal promises to “significantly expand freestanding range sales in this key U.S. region for both our organizations.”

COSTA MESA, CALIF. — Dacor, the privately held kitchen appliance company, will begin shipping a redesigned 36-inch French-door refrigerator this month. The Energy Star-qualified fridge was upgraded for greater energy efficiency and features an exterior ice and water dispenser with temperature controls on the keypad. Dacor said the unit uses less energy than a 75-watt light bulb and that the dispenser will cut consumption by minimizing open-door time.
