Liebherr, the German manufacturer of premium built-in, freestanding, and fully integrated refrigeration and wine storage units, announced that it will introduce its first 36-inch refrigerator, specifically designed for the U.S. market, at the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show in April.
The 2062 series, a French-door, Energy Star-rated platform, will be available in freestanding, full-integrated and stainless integrated designs, and is expected to begin shipping in May.
“The 36-inch is not a common size in Europe, yet it is the most popular size in the luxury category here in North America,” said Marc Perez, VP of Liebherr North America, based here. “We’ve been working diligently to offer this size in our North American product line, and I’m confident that this product will exceed all expectations.”
Features include a dual refrigeration system, with separate variable speed compressors for the refrigerator and the freezer compartments; double freezer drawers on telescopic rails and a new air flow system; new LED light columns and enhanced vegetable drawer and freezer drawer LED illumination; technically advanced water filtration; an increased capacity icemaker that can produce 3.5 pounds of ice in 24 hours and store up to 7 pounds of cubes; an enhanced power cooling system for improved chilling performance; and new 6mm-thick glass shelving that holds up to 180 pounds.
Liebherr positions itself as a worldwide leader in environmentally responsible refrigeration and the maker of the “greenest refrigeration in the world.”
