New York – LG Electronics has formally launched today its third-generation Ultra HD LED LCD TV line offering seven screen sizes in three model series.
The new Ultra HD series includes the UB9800, UB9500 and UB8500, and will include screen sizes ranging from 49 inches to 84 inches.
“LG is serious about making Ultra HD TVs a reality for consumers now. That’s why our new lineup offers a broad variety of series, class sizes and prices,” said David VanderWaal, LG Electronics marketing head. “With a smart-TV platform as simple and robust as WebOS and IPS panels that deliver ultra-wide viewing angles, LG’s Ultra HD TVs have the most comprehensive features available to American consumers,” he said today during CE Week, here.
All of the models offer 3,840 by 2,160 resolution (four times that of 1080p FullHD) and are said to conform to the newly expanded CEA terminology for “Connected Ultra HDTVs.” Over and above that, the sets will be ready to stream 4K content from Netflix, LG said.
As part of the launch through Aug. 16, LG revealed an exclusive promotion, offering purchasers of a qualifying LG Ultra HD 4K TV a 12-month subscription to Netflix, compliments of LG.
