Storage maker LaCie will show an expanded version of its Little Big Disk Quadra line at International CES, and it has added several models to its d2 Quadra series.
The company has added 400GB and 500GB versions of the Little Big Disk Quadra to its line, which previously topped out at 320GB.
The two new drives will be available with either 5,400 rpm or 7,200 rpm drives. Each drive uses fan-less cooling technology for quiet operation and comes equipped with four different ways to connect to a PC, eSata, USB 2.0 and two FireWire 800 ports. The drives weigh 1.4 pounds and can be daisy-chained together for additional storage capacity.
“The LaCie Little Big Disk Quadra is the ultimate solution for professionals needing convenient portable storage without having to sacrifice performance,” said Anne Bordet, LaCie Product Manager.
The drives started shipping this month. Pricing was not available at press time.
The d2 series received a new corrugated metal casing that offers 60 percent more surface area for heat dispersion. The d2 Quadra comes in 320GB, 500GB, 750GB and 1TB versions with 5GBps of data transfer speed using its e-Sata connection. This is 1.5 times faster then the previous d2 models. The units can be used with either a PC or Mac and can be daisy-chained together to increase a home or businesses overalls storage capacity.
