Klipsch Teams With Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame In Tribute To Smokey Robinson

Klipsch is teaming up with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to stream the 20th annual Music Masters series all-star tribute concert honoring Smokey Robinson.

The 2015 Annual Music Masters event is presented by Klipsch Audio and scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. EST. It will be streamed for free at Klipsch.com/music-masters

Klipsch entered into a three-year partnership with the Hall earlier this year, outfitting Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum with pro speakers, home theater speakers, sound bars and headphones. Klipsch also became the first-ever presenting sponsor of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which was held in April.

The Music Masters event will feature Hall of Fame inductees Dennis Edwards, Martha Reeves, and Mary Wilson, plus the Robert Glasper Experiment. Scheduled performers include Avant, Avery*Sunshine, Bilal, JoJo, Eric Roberson, and Michelle Williams.

To open the concert, Case Western Reserve will bestow an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree on Smokey Robinson in recognition of his musical and cultural contributions that include hos songs and music-industry leadership, Klipsch said. The university awards honorary degrees to recognize people whose work exemplifies the highest ideals and standards of excellence, the company said.

In addition to leading the Miracles, Robinson was a Motown producer, songwriter, and talent scout. Smokey Robinson and the Miracles 27 seven pop-soul hits at Motown between 1960 and 1971. Robinson also wrote and produced for numerous other Motown artists, including Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, Mary Wells, and the Marvelettes.
