Kenwood USA, e-Sim Sign Development, Marketing Deal

New York – e-SIM, a developer of advanced simulation technology for e-commerce, customer support and product development, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Kenwood USA, based in Long Beach, Calif., to produce simulations for selected audio/video products.

E-SIM will also digitize the user manuals for many of the models included in the company’s current product lineup. Under the terms of the agreement, e-SIM has been commissioned by Kenwood to produce simulations for seven Kenwood products. Three of its high-end Series 4000 models are part of the deal, including the top-of-the line VR-4900 receiver, the VR-410 receiver, Kenwood’s first DVD-Audio/Video carousel, the company’s new 200 Disc CD changer that features their exclusive Netnamer technology, and the CD-425M 200 Disc CD changer. E-SIM will also convert up to 200 manuals into HTML for easy access and usability on the Web. Kenwood has agreed to brand LiveManuals on select product related materials.

The simulations and manuals will be available at kenwoodusa.com where consumers can try out the latest products, see how they work, and have instant access to user manuals for product support. A “Powered by LiveManuals” icon will appear next to each simulation on the Kenwood site.

The CE maker also plans to use the simulations for tech support and sales training. When completed, the simulations and manuals will also be available on livemanuals.com and one will be featured as part of e-SIM’s special placement throughout the AOL Network.

In announcing the agreement, Bill Sims, president & CEO of e-SIM’s LiveProducts Division said, “Kenwood is the first to make extensive use of our advanced technology for converting manuals to interactive, easy-to-navigate support tools as well as LiveManuals. Kenwood has always been known as an innovator of home and car audio equipment. By adopting our technology and having a wide range of user-friendly manuals available on the Internet, Kenwood reinforces this position as well as their commitment to providing the most enjoyable user experience. LiveManuals will help Kenwood customers get the most out of their products.”

Kenwood USA president Joe Richter said, “We are excited to be partnering with LiveProducts on this project. Their technology will allow us to provide our customers with a new level of support and service which further reinforces our promise to deliver more than expected.”
