Port Washington, N.Y. – iLuv tossed its hat into the home-automation ring with the shipment of Bluetooth-controlled multicolor LED light bulbs.
The $39.99-suggested Rainbow7 bulb is available at Amazon and other retailers.
Via an iOS or Android app, users can turn lights on and off or dim them from up to 30 feet away via Bluetooth Smart technology. Users can also change the bulb’s color, choosing among more than 16 million colors, including clear white for reading.
Multiple bulbs can be controlled at once. Users can group up to six bulbs in one group and create up to 10 groups to control up to 60 bulbs from the app.
Rainbow7 can be also customized to follow a lighting schedule, such as turning on automatically when the owner enters the home, turning on at night when residents are away, or turning off automatically at bed time.
The bulb is part of iLuv’s new Connected Home-Connected Life series of app-controlled smart products, which also consists of a Bluetooth-controlled under-pillow alarm/shaker and an app-controlled Bluetooth portable speaker with FM radio and panic alarm.
