New smart watches and tablets are on the way from Huawei.
The MediaPad M2 tablet is a 10.1-inch 1,920 by 1,200 Android model with fingerprint security, pen/stylus and four speakers. Two speakers on top and two on bottom deliver 4 watts of output and feature Harman Kardon’s Clari-Fi technology to improve the quality of compressed sound files.
The M2 will be available in four versions: Wi-Fi-only with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM at $349, 2GB/16GB with LTE and Wi-Fi $399, Wi-Fi-only 3GB/64GB Wi-Fi at $419, and 3GB/64GB LTE and Wi-Fi at $469. All are due this quarter.
Huawei’s new female-centric Android Wear watches, the $499 Elegant and $599 Jewel are both ringed by Sworvski Zirconia gems and feature customized classic watch faces, many of which appear to be jewel-encrusted. The watches will be the first Android Wear watches with built-in speakers for on-watch calling, the company claimed.
