HP Debuts Two Digicams at PMA

Hewlett-Packard today expanded its digital camera line with the introduction of the PhotoSmart C912 and C618.

Both cameras, slated to ship late this summer, utilize HP’s “Custom Photo Lab” technology. This gives the cameras the ability to automatically optimize each shot by adjusting the camera for lighting, contrasts and color. The models also feature the Digita operating system that allows the cameras to be upgraded and utilize different types of photo software.

The C912 will have a 2.24-megapixel CCD and 36-bit color depth that the company claims will deliver pictures similar to those taken by a 3-megapixel camera. Other features are a 3x optical zoom, 2-inch flip-up LCD, sound capture and the ability to wirelessly transfer photos through an infrared port.

The 2.1 megapixel C618 also has a 2-inch LCD and a 3x optical zoom.

Pricing was not released.
