GERS Providing E-Commerce Platform For .com Distribution

Internet distributor .com Distribution Corporation has purchased the licensing rights to GERS Retail Systems’ CustomerDirect e-commerce platform.

The distributor is one of the first pure-play vendors to employ CustomerDirect, which is a complete e-commerce fulfillment, customer service and order management solution.

“We chose GERS as our e-commerce software vendor because we found their solution to be state-of-the-art, very modular and capable of allowing us maximum flexibility,” said John Polis, executive VP of .com Distribution. “We’re confident it will handle all of our autoprocessing and customer service functions, as well as provide us with real-time online interaction with our client’s web sites, which will allow us to be a reliable, low cost, high quality provider of e-commerce fulfillment services.”

According to GERS, its e-commerce software suite allows for excellent customer service by integrating every aspect of a direct commerce operation, including order management, personalization, pick, pack and ship fulfillment, delivery management and customer response center operations. Noted GERS executive VP Don VanderBeke, “We believe that CustomerDirect is the most robust e-commerce product available to the industry today. We’re confident that .com Distribution will see that it exceeds their expectations as they launch and expand their business venture.”

Edison, N.J.-based .com Distribution is expected to be fully operational late in the second quarter. Founded by the former senior management team of a leading direct response group, the company boasts a fully automated 240,000 square foot warehouse and plans to add three more facilities over the next four years.

San Diego, Calif.-based GERS has been a leading supplier of enterprise-wide software solutions for the business-to-consumer marketplace for the past 25 years. It recently entered into a working relationship with Telephony@Work, a developer of Internet-integrated enterprise computer telephony solutions for call centers and companies, that will allow GERS to integrate Telephony’s award-winning CallCenter@nywhere transaction processing platform into CustomerDirect.
