German Maestro Debuts Speakers

Laguna Niguel, Calif. – German Maestro, the new brand from the former MB Quart factory in Germany, announced it is releasing an entry-level car speaker line in the U.S. called the Alpha series — the only German Maestro line not manufactured in Germany.

“The Alpha Series is designed and engineered in our Obrigheim [Germany] headquarters and then assembled in India by a world-class speaker manufacturer who is quite familiar with the German Maestro heritage and standards,” said Thomas Sauer, president of German Maestro’s parent company in Obrigheim.

The new series will offer a select distribution line with stable prices and margins at more common price points, said Ray Windsor, president of German Maestro USA. The line has five speaker models including three coaxial units: a 5.25-inch model at a minimum resale price of $149, and 6.5-inch and 6-by-9 versions, each at $199. Two component sets also come in 5.25-inch and 6.5-inch sizes at $199 and $229, respectively.

Windsor says the company enforces a strict policy against transshipping.

The German Maestro brand was established last November as a result of Maxxsonics’ purchase of MB Quart out of receivership in 2005. Maxxsonics later sold the MB Quart factory to former MB Quart management who launched Maestro Badenia in Germany, which then launched German Maestro in the U.S.
