Gemini Names O’Neal CEO Replacing Barrett

CLIFTON, NJ — Michael O’Neal has been named president/CEO of Gemini Industries. He replaces John Barrett, who is leaving the company.

O’Neal, who had been Gemini’s chief operating officer handling the accessory company’s day-to-day activities since August 1999, has been credited with leading several key initiatives that have significantly strengthened Gemini’s business and competitive competition. The company recently completed a major refinancing, significantly reducing debt and providing financial flexibility to pursue business development and growth initiatives.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to lead Gemini through its next phase of growth,” said O’Neal. “The recent steps we have taken put us in an excellent position for the future.”

Said Barrett about Gemini’s progress under his stewardship: “Customer and supplier relationships have been strengthened, forward-thinking strategies have been instituted and the company has been properly capitalized to allow pursuit of these business strategies.”

Barrett, who was brought to Gemini by York Management, an investment and turnaround group, in order to restore Gemini to good health, said he is returning to Chicago to pursue other business interests. He will continue to serve Gemini as a newly appointed member of it board. Barrett also has been with Gemini since last August.

Gemini manufactures and markets audio/video, telephone, electronic and computer accessories sold under the brand names Philips, Philips/Magnavox, Southwestern Bell and Gemini.
