Valhalla, N.Y. – Fujifilm officially unveiled this week the X-T1 X-series interchangeable lens camera, featuring a 16.3-megapixel X-Trans CMOS II sensor and 0.08 second fast AF system.
The X-T1 is billed as the first weather-resistant mirrorless camera in the Fujifilm line.
Key features include a 16.3-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor, 3-inch 1,040k-dot tilting LCD monitor, 0.5-inch 2.360k-dot OLED viewfinder, FullHD 1080/60p video recording, built-In Wi-Fi connectivity, and continuous shooting of up to 8 fps with tracking AF.
The camera employs an Intelligent Hybrid AF System, includes Digital Split Image and focus peaking and includes an EF-X8 shoe-mount flash.
The Fujifilm X-T1 is compatible with the new faster SDXC UHS-II cards
The Fuji X-T1 carries a $1,299 suggested retail for the body-only, and $1,699 for the body and 18-55mm f/2.8-4 OIS kit.
The camera’s 2.36 million-dot OLED EVF features a magnification of 0.77x (said to be the world’s highest) and has a lag time of just 0.005 seconds. The OLED EVF has four available display modes.
The camera body is sealed from the weather using 75 weather sealing points, which keep out dust and water. The camera is also said to be freeze resistant to -14F.
The X-T1 one-touch Wi-Fi connectivity allows sharing images to a smartphone or tablet and provides remote camera shooting control via the smartphone or tablet using the Fujifilm Camera Remote app.
Fujifilm also launched three weather-resistant lenses to complement the X-T1: the XF18-135mmF3.5-5.6 R OIS WR, XF16-55mmF2.8 R OIS WR and the XF50-140mmF2.8 R OIS WR.
An optional vertical battery grip (VG-XT1) has the same durable construction as the X-T1.
