French Ranges Headed For U.S. Stores

Yet another European appliance manufacturer is targeting the U.S. market: this month Euro-Life Distributors of Flemington, N.J., begins importing a 48-inch professional-style range from Godin S.A. of Guise, France, on a special-order basis.

The range is the first unit in Godin’s Pro Chatelaine line to be available to U.S. retailers, and it will be followed shortly by additional models now in the process of obtaining UL listings, said Euro-Life business manager Marie Demarais.

Euro-Life, which also handles the Wolf Range line, is distributing Godin ranges in seven Northeastern states under an exclusive agreement that took effect July 1.

The first model has dual ovens and five gas burners. It comes in a variety of finishes and personalized colors. Suggested retail prices will be in the $7,645 to $8,395 range.

Godin has been producing ranges in France since 1840.
