Fitness Headphones

As noted by Futuresource Consulting (see story at left), fitness headphones are a rapidly expanding segment for the headphones category. The trio below is just some of the newest additions to the market.

Scosche’s SportClip 3 ear buds, which feature IP4X splash- and sweat-proof rating, have two-point bend-to-fit flexible ear clips, adjustable and pivoting drivers, antimicrobial ear cushions, and a tangle-resistant cable. They’re offered in blue, pink or black for a $34.99 suggested retail.

Soul Electronics’ Run Free Pro in-ear Bluetooth headphones have a proprietary Interchangeable Ear Lock System, meant to provide a custom fit and seal. The cable can be worn under or over the ear. Other details include Bluetooth 4.0 with AptX, in-line mic and remote, and a $129 price tag. They come in black or blue.

SOL Republic’s first Tiger Woods-partnered product is a special edition of its Shadow Wireless Bluetooth headphones. Now offered in red and black — “to commemorate Tiger’s tradition of wearing red on Sundays,” SOL said — they feature a flexible, lightweight design meant to be worn around the neck. It will be available exclusively through Best Buy, TigerWoods.com and SOLRepublic.com for $119.
