Billed by its maker as a fitness tracker for cooking, the FireBoard digital thermometer lets consumers remotely monitor food temperature for more relaxed grilling.
The device, which is seeking funding on Kickstarter, can monitor temperatures via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for up to six different channels via various probes. SMS and email alerts are then delivered to the chef’s smartphone, and data can also be logged in the accompanying iOS and Android app.
According to the company, accuracy is measured within 0.4 degrees C. The lithium-ion battery is said to last around 24 hours.
Early backers can pick one up for $129, with shipping slated for December.
