Emerson Quiet Kool Shows Its Smarts

Launching smart 26-SKU home comfort line

HomeEasy, the company behind the iconic Emerson Quiet Kool brand, is launching an expansive smart AC and dehumidifier line this spring that positions it as “the broadest home comfort manufacturer in the U.S.,” the company said.

Born of a ramped-up R&D effort, the new line includes 26 smart ACs in window, portable and through-the-wall configurations that, together with the connected dehumidifiers, are 100-percent compatible with both the Google Home and Amazon Alexa voice-control platforms.

The energy-efficient, eco-friendly collection is set to ship to online and chainstore retailers including ABC Warehouse, Amazon, BrandsMart USA, Kroger/Fred Meyer, P.C. Richard & Son, and The Home Depot, the company said.

Sales and marketing director Jack Zheng described the retail price step between Quiet Kool’s conventional and smart models as a modest $30 to $60. The smart products, like their predecessors, are also covered by what he called the longest OEM warranty in the industry, which is supported by domestic 1-800 customer service and simple online video set-up instructions that can be accessed by scanning a barcode.

Now in its 11th year, HomeEasy is based in Hong Kong, distributed domestically by Philadelphia-based Almo Corp., and maintains a U.S. headquarters in Fairfield, N.J. In addition to the 70-plus-year-old Emerson brand, the company also markets a Geek Appliance line of unique home products including outdoor infrared heaters, rechargeable outdoor floor fans and oversized oval pressure cookers.

The business managed to capture 2 percent of the U.S. home comfort market, Zheng told TWICE last year. Looking ahead, he said HomeEasy pledges to “continue building our legendary brand through continued innovations of investments of smart-home solutions, designing products for all the current ‘on-the-go’ lifestyles that match with perfect form and simplicity.”
