Stockholm – Electrolux’s North American sales and earnings helped the white goods giant post earnings of 642 million Kronor on sales of 26.7 billion Kronor for the second quarter.
This figure was down slightly from the same period in 2012, but company executives were upbeat for the both the North American and European markets.
Electrolux president and CEO Keith McLoughlin called North America second quarter earnings strong and he is anticipating U.S. demand for appliances will increase 5-7 percent for the second half of 2013 powered by the expanding housing market.
The same could not be said for the European market. McLoughlin expects continued rough sailing, however, conditions could improve slightly in the second half.
