West Covina, Calif. — EFun launched what it called the industry’s first Windows two-in-one tablet retailing for less than $200.
The company’s two-in-one 10.1-inch Nextbook tablet with detachable Pogo keyboard will be available at $179 in mid-November at Walmart stores nationwide and Walmart.com, with preorders beginning Oct. 23. It will be available in December at SamsClub.com.
It’s the company’s first Windows tablet and first two-in-one tablet.
The Windows tablet features a 10.1-inch 1,280 by 800 IPS capacitive multitouch display, Windows 8.1 OS, quad-core 1.83GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB internal storage; 64GB MicroSD slot, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, front webcam, 2-megapixel back camera with microphone, MicroUSB port, MiniHDMI port and preloaded software, including Nook for Windows 8. It also comes with a free one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal, including 1TB of OneDrive Cloud storage, and 60 Skype world minutes per month.
Early this year, EFun launched its first quad-core Android tablet, the Nextbook 8 at $99.
