DVDO Debuts Roku Ultra HD HDMI Switcher

Sunnyvale, Calif. — DVDO introduced Tuesday the Roku Ready certified Quick6R 4K Ultra HD HDMI switcher.

Customers can access more than 1,500 streaming channels by inserting a Roku Streaming Stick (Roku Ready Version) into the MHL port — no wires or extra remote required.

Like the original Quick6, the Quick6R is specifically designed to upgrade any home entertainment system without replacing the A/V receiver, DVDO said.

The switcher’s features include instant 4K switching, 3D, picture-in picture (PIP), as well as InstaPrevue, a Silicon Image technology that makes TVs and A/V receivers easier to use by taking the guesswork out of switching between HDMI sources, the company said.

The Quick6R is specifically designed to support the Roku Streaming Stick and includes a new DVDO remote control capable of controlling all Roku streaming functions.

The Quick6R is available at a suggested retail of $429 from authorized DVDO distributors, dealers and online partners.

Among the DVDO Quick6R features are six HDMI inputs, including four (300MHz) 4K Ultra HD capable inputs; one MHL-enabled input to connect mobile devices and one MHL-enabled port for the Roku Streaming Stick.

No additional remote is required to control the Roku Streaming Stick (Roku Ready Version).

Additional features include: InstaPrevue technology that displays live previews of all active inputs; InstaPort S single-second port switching technology; Picture-in-Picture, including dynamic audio swapping; an audio return channel;  S/PDIF optical and coax outputs; a serial port for automation control; automatic switching for three modes; and USB for firmware updates.
