NEW YORK –
The docking-speaker market has matured, but suppliers see potential for future growth as the category expands to include “wireless-docking” solutions incorporating stereo Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay, said suppliers polled by TWICE.
They cited a desire by iPhone and iPad owners to keep their devices close at hand while listening to music through a docking speaker, and they pointed to the rise of Android smartphones, which for now stream music to tabletop speakers only through stereo Bluetooth.
In responding to questions via email, key docking-speaker suppliers also outlined other factors that could enhance the sales of docking speakers.
