Dell Computer announced the availability of the new Inspiron E1505 and 6400 Media Center notebooks.
The E1505 is a consumer-oriented multimedia entertainment model that comes with an optional TV tuner, while the 6400 is being targeted at the home office/small business community.
Both notebooks support Intel’s Core Duo and Solo processors and have 15.4-inch screens. A basic configuration for each model using an Intel Solo Core T1300 processor starts at $929, with the Core Duo T2300 version costing $979. A basic starting unit features 512MB of memory and a 40GB hard drive. Memory can be expanded to 2GB and hard-drive capacity to 100GB. Other shared features include a CD-RW or dual-format, double-layer DVD burner; 802.11a/b/g; and Bluetooth wireless networking. Average weight is about 6 pounds.
