Portland, Ore. – Cellular MVNO Consumer Cellular is expanding its presence in Sears stores.
Consumer Cellular, which targets the 50-plus age group with no-contract postpaid service, will roll out larger displays in the 750 Sears stores in which its products and services are currently sold. The larger displays will make room for more smartphones and for more color options for most phones.
The new display “allows us to showcase a broader range of Consumer Cellular products for customers and provides the hands-on buying experience that can be important when choosing a cellphone to best fit a specific lifestyle,” said Consumer Cellular CEO John Marick.
With the expansion, the MVNO will add the Moto G, Huawei Vision and the LG Escape smartphone to Sears displays. The display will also enable Sears to show currently displayed phones in a wider range of colors, including the Consumer Cellular Envoy and Doro PhoneEasy 618.
The MVNO sells service direct to consumers, through 750 of more than 790 full-line U.S. Sears stores, and through RadioShack franchise stores, having expanded beyond direct selling in 2010. The MVNO is also the exclusive wireless provider for AARP members.
