CompUSA Cuts Jobs In Streamlining Effort

CompUSA today announced the streamlining of its operations to increase customer service and improve the company's financial performance. The restructuring adds approximately 650 employees to sales and customer service areas and reduces store and corporate support staff by approximately 1,500 employees. "Our new structure will allow us to devote more of the company's energies to serving and working with our customers," said Hal Compton, president and CEO. "This new structure is also designed to increase our flexibility to allow CompUSA to adjust to the changing needs of our many customers."
