Cobra Updates iRadar App

Chicago — Cobra Electronics has updated its iRadar alert-sharing app, now in its fourth year of existence.

Version 4.0 of the iRadar app brings enhancements to the mapping features, including a new rotating map and an automatic zoom feature. Drivers will be able to see alert locations well before getting to them, the company said, and they can now rotate, tilt and pan the map freely to view at any angle.

Other features include Live Traffic Data Integration, which shows real-time traffic information directly on the map; Get Directions, which lets users enter an address for the best route; and Coverage Map View, which lets users see where iRadar alerts are concentrated and spot isolated alert locations on long stretches of road when zoomed out.

The new version also has music control, background alert notifications and distance countdown to alerts.

The app is free when used in conjunction with one of Cobra’s iRadar detectors. It can also be purchased for $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year as a stand-alone app.
