Pioneer and Onkyo will bring its Elite Smart Speaker F4 (VA-FW40) to CES 2018.
Featuring Amazon Alexa voice services, the speaker can answer almost any question and supports skills that can deliver the news, provide updates on traffic and weather, read recipes, set reminders and more.
It features dual full-range drivers, dual passive bass radiators and DSP switching amplification.
It also offers extensive voice-controlled home-automation capabilities when used with supported network-connected smart devices from such brands as WeMo, Philips Hue, Samsung SmartThings, Nest and Ecobee. When compatible Play-Fi products are grouped using Pioneer Music Control App, the Elite Smart Speaker F4 plays music simultaneously with DTS Play-Fi automatically synchronizing the music in every room throughout the house. Family members can use their smartphone or tablet to listen to their own music in their own room or groups of speakers in the home.
The unit includes an aux input and variable line output to pass audio to a non-networked stereo amplification system or home theater — billed as a simple way to add voice-controlled audio to the living space or media room.
It can also connect to other source devices, such as a compatible turntable, media player or portable cassette player.
Priced at $300, the Elite Smart Speaker F4 is available now.
The companies can be found at Bassano 2601 in the Venetian during CES.
