CEDIA 2016: Russound Debuts XStream-Based Streaming System/Amp For Commercial Spaces

Russound will unveil a light-commercial version of its popular XStream streaming audio amplifiers at next week’s CEDIA in Dallas.

The 70-volt XZone70v is a more powerful version of the high-resolution digital media streaming audio source that incorporates the company’s XStream technology to enable streaming audio content from the cloud, a local network or AirPlay-enabled devices.

The 70-volt/100-volt amplifier uses advanced circuitry to provide up to 300 watts of power in a single 1U chassis, the company said.

“XStream models for the home are proving to be a big hit with dealers who want a simple, highly efficient audio streaming solution for projects of any size,” said Charlie Porritt, Russsond CEO. “The most vocal dealers were quick to tell us that a 70-volt version would have as big an impact on their light commercial installations as the residential system did on home installations, which is when we went to work on the XZone70V.”

Similar to its residential counterpart, the XZone70V’s built-in audio streamer offers the most popular services, but with a focus on commercial installations. Included in the system is SiriusXM for Business, providing installers with a simple, cost-effective option for streaming legally licensed music at any business. Also included are popular services including vTuner, Pandora, Spotify and TuneIn.

One of the more essential features for commercial installations is an integrated microphone input that automatically senses a signal and pauses the audio stream for paging through the system. Condenser mic support is easily accessed with a sliding switch on the rear panel, in addition to a Mic Gain control for easy adjustment of the audio level, and a front panel Mic Volume Level that gives users access to increase Mic Volume as the environment dictates.

The XZone70V is included in the Russound Certified Installer (RCI) Program. RCI Required models boast a recently introduced feature designed to reduce unauthorized online sales of the company’s products while ensuring that consumers receive the benefits of working with certified installation professionals. To date, more than 5,000 Russound installers are taking part in the program.

Additional 70V models will be announced at a CEDIA Expo press conference on Sept. 16 at 11 a.m., in Russound’s booth (No. 5110).
