Canada’s Sound Developments Enters U.S. Market

Richmond, British Columbia — Sound Developments has entered the U.S. market as a custom-installation distributor.

In a statement, the distributor said it is positioning itself as “North America’s premier specialty A/V distributor,” providing “a combination of passion, focus, personal attention, quick delivery and profitable brands.”

Sound Developments said it can provide from its warehouse all stocked products delivered next-day to all 48 contiguous states. In addition, a nationwide network of 35 independent representatives will foster dealer relationships, provide product training and offer intelligent brand management, the distributor said.

Barry Wosk, president, said, “We’re thrilled to bring our successful and efficient, value-add model, proven for nearly 15 years in Canada, to the United States at a time when it seems everyone else is focused on cost-cutting, local warehousing and a race to add brands. We’re way more than just fulfillment.”

He noted, “To ensure we deliver value to our partners, we will focus on a small number of brands, with no overlap, while looking to serve all important categories for our dealers.  We look forward to changing the distribution landscape in a good way.”

The company will have a “significant presence” at CEDIA Expo 2013 in Denver, Sept. 26-28.

Brands available at launch include A/Vaux (VauxElectronics.com), Gefen   (Gefen.com), iDocx (iDocxOnline.com) and Schneider Electric (MySEHome.com).
