Panasonic 4K TVs Are Now ‘Netflix Recommended’

NEWARK, N.J. — Panasonic TVs have joined the list of those carrying the official Netflix Recommended TV designation. This label, which indicates the TV has undergone an evaluation program and meets specific criteria, will be placed on nine Panasonic 4K Ultra HD TVs in the CX850, CX800, CX650 and CX600 series, with screen sizes ranging from 50 to 65 inches.

Criteria include instant-on capability to display apps as soon as the TV is turned on; a dedicated Netflix button on the TV’s remote; the latest version of Netflix; fast app launch and resume; and fast playback start.

Other participants currently carrying the designation include TCL and LG, and Sony, Sharp, Vizio and others are expected to join soon.

The iWear is compatible with any device supporting HDMI output, including PCs, game consoles, smartphones, Blu-ray players and Wi-Fi wireless dongles for direct Internet connection.

The video headphones, originally unveiled at International CES, feature integrated motion tracking, OSVR, Unity 3D and Unreal gaming engine support. A growing list of games and VR title support is now offered, Vuzix said.
