AT&T Gets S6 Active Exclusive
DALLAS – AT&T will begin offering a ruggedized version of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S6 smartphone on June 12 on an exclusive basis as the carrier did with the ruggedized versions of the Galaxy S4 and S5.
The price with contact is $199 and $694 without. It’s also available with Next installment-payment plans.
The phone, called the Galaxy S6 Active, incorporates all the performance and features of the Galaxy S 6 but adds water- and dust-proof protection. The phone meets U.S. military standard 810G for water-resistance and to withstand dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, humidity and high altitude. Its IP68 rating enables it to be submersed in up to nearly 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
Boost Mobile Adds Live TV
OVERLAND PARK, KAN. – Sprint unveiled a live TV service for its Boost Mobile prepaid brand, making Boost the only prepaid brand offering live TV.
BoostTV offers free on-demand programming such as news, fashion, music and the like, but a $10/month BoostTV Live Sports add-on lets consumers watch live and on-demand sports content. BoostTV offers baseball, basketball, boxing, soccer and other sports geared to Hispanic audiences.
EFun Ships Latest 2-In-1 Tablets
WEST COVINA, CALIF. — EFun shipped its second-generation Nextbook Windows two-in-one tablets following last October’s shipments of the company’s first Windows two-in-one models.
The $227 Flexx 11 and $178 Flexx 10 are available with detachable magnetic keyboards through Walmart.com and select Walmart stores. The Flexx 10 is in 3,857 Walmart stores, and the Flexx 11 is in 1,435 stores. Both are upgradable for free to Windows 10 starting July 29.
