Boost, Virgin Get First Enhanced LTE Phone

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. — LG is providing the first Enhanced LTE smartphone for Sprint’s two prepaid brands, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile.

The LG Volt is available today at a suggested $179 at the two brands’ online stores and at retail in dark blue for Boost and white for Virgin.

Key features include 4.7-inch IPS display with Corning  Gorilla Glass 2, 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 1080p video capture, 1GB embedded memory, 32GB MicroSD slot, and a 3,000 mAh removable battery with up to 24 hours of talk time.

Like a growing number of LG phones, the Volt features Knock Code, which lets users power on and unlock the phone by tapping the screen using any one of more than 86,000 knock combinations. A knock pattern using from two to eight taps can be entered on any area of the screen, even if the display is off.

The Volt also comes with LG’s Easy Home user-interface feature to simplify the home screen and increase the size of icons and fonts for first-time smartphone users, LG said. Guest Mode lets users keep content private when sharing the phone with family and friends.

Other key features include Next Radio, an app that works with the embedded FM tuner to find local FM radio stations, view song and artist information that can be shared online, and to share online, and purchase the song playing.

QuickRemote turns the phone into a universal TV remote; QuickMemo lets users create and share personalized memos by taking screen captures and adding handwritten drawings or messages; and QSlide layers up to two windows over the main screen to display different apps.
