Tempe, Ariz. – Blaupunkt added to its aftermarket car audio lineup with a navigation-ready multimedia head unit retailing for a suggested $429.

The San Diego 530, marketed in the U.S. by Rockford, features a front-panel MicroSDHC slot that accepts a memory card loaded with navigation maps, which can be displayed on the head’s 6.2-inch 800 by 480 touchscreen.

The head unit, which is shipping, features AM/FM tuner, RDS, CD/DVD player, Bluetooth hands-free with phone book access, stereo Bluetooth with AVRCP, front USB, front A/V input, video output, and decoding of MP3, WMA, MPEG, MPG, AVI, Xvid, JPEG and JPG files.

It also features a 4x45-watt (max) amplifier, subwoofer output, 10-band parametric EQ, rear-camera input and IR remote.

Earlier this year, Blaupunkt launched the $159-suggested Capri 220 mechless source unit with AM/FM tuner, MP3 playback via USB mass-storage device, 4x25-watt power, a waterproof face, an RCA aux input, and salt/fog- and UV-exposure resistance. It can be connected to an optional $49 BT UP dongle, which has a 12-volt power supply and connects to the head unit via an aux in.
