Maytag, long a staple of Best Buy’s 177-some-odd Pacific Kitchen & Home premium appliance departments, has joined the majap rank-and-file within 600 of its 1,037 big-box stores. Parent company Whirlpool said the flagship showrooms now carry Maytag’s full kitchen and laundry line, which had been available at BestBuy.com and shipped to stores last month.
“Our goal is to give our customers the best selection of top appliances, and partnering with Whirlpool to offer Maytag products is the latest example of that commitment,” said Best Buy appliances senior VP Kevin Balon.
Sam Abdelnour, Whirlpool sales VP, North American region, noted the growth in Best Buy’s appliances division and said that adding the vendor’s full brand portfolio “can only foster greater success for both companies.”
Best Buy ranked fourth last year on TWICE’s Major Appliance Retailers Top 50, with an 11 percent increase in majap sales.
