Luxury brand Montblanc has much to celebrate with the launch of its new Smart Headphone line, as well as its new Summit 2+ smartwatch, and celebrate they did with a star-and-influencer-filled event last night at the World of McIntosh (WOM) in downtown Manhattan.

WOM is a stylish former power station-turned-townhouse-turned-high-end-audio showroom/event space that Montblanc enhanced with a mock airplane cabin containing two business class seats that attendees could sit in and get a feel for the company’s new Smart Headphones, which are foldable and compact, and designed to “make business and leisure travel more seamless, productive, and enjoyable from departure to destination.”

Nicolas Baretzki, Montblanc CEO, welcomed the crowd alongside actor Hugh Jackman and musician Quincy Brown, both of whom expressed how much they travel for their jobs, and how they thought the Smart Headphones could make those travels a better experience.

Montblanc Smart Headphones

Features of the sleek-looking travel headphones include active noise cancelling technology, high sound quality, comfortable ergonomic design, quality craftsmanship for durability, and Google Assistant, which allows for voice-activated device control and commands. The Smart Headphones function across a broad range of Bluetooth devices, including iOS and Android devices.

The Montblanc Smart Headphones come in three different combinations: black leather with chrome metal finishes, brown leather with gold colored metal finishes, and light grey leather with polished metal finishes. Each pair of headphones comes in a fabric pouch with a USB-C charging cable, audio Jack cable, and an airplane adaptor.

Also on hand last night was the Montblanc Summit 2+, which, according to the company, will be the first luxury smartwatch that can directly activate cellular connectivity right in the Wear OS by Google app on Android smartphones. The new wearable stays connected at all times, even when the owner is away from his or her smartphone. The Montblanc design gives traditional watch lovers ways to express themselves while housing current technology inside a 43.5mm pure steel case. A Snapdragon 3100, extended battery power of 440 mAh, and 1.28 inch AMOLED Screen are linked to a 22mm exchangeable strap. With a built-in speaker, Summit 2+ allows the owner direct access to services such as phone calls or the Google Assistant.

The Summit 2+ includes an outdoor toolbox with Speedometer, Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, and GPS. TO enhance the life of the traveler, the Summit 2+ also includes the Timeshifter app and watch face, which provides personalized advice to minimize jet lag based on the traveler’s sleep pattern, chronotype, and flight plan. And the new Montblanc Travel Info app provides relevant local traveler information, including the voice-activated translator that gives its user direct translations from a multitude of languages directly to the watch’s display.
