Stow, Ohio — Audio-Technica joined the high-res audio movement this week with the launch of its SonicPro ATH-MSR7 over-ear headphones, scheduled to ship in March.
The ATH-MSR7 headphones feature the company’s 45mm True Motion drivers, said to provide clarity, a natural tonal balance and extended dynamic range. The drivers have a lightweight, highly responsive voice coil and diaphragm, and a two-layer aluminum/magnesium housing with multi-layer air damping technology. Within the multi-layer structure are three precisely placed air vents that control the airflow to provide greater dynamics and sonic impact, Audio-Technica said, while the housing is engineered to mirror the ear to enhance low-frequency sounds.
Other details include memory-foam ear pads, padded headband, in-line mic and remote, and a swivel design. Two detachable cables are included: a 4-foot version and a 10-foot version.
They will be offered in black and gun metal for a $249 suggested retail.
